(back to home)

Happy second day of spring! It's so rainy. I've been working hard at my job, trying to get money... uh, and then not doing a very good job at saving it up. My wallet got a little thinner today. I've been working hard, though!!

Work today was a little bit tough, though. Twice a year, this large book club in the city hosts a massive used book sale in the mall that I work at, and it tends to get really busy. There were lots of people who came in... I had to take my lunch break, like, two hours late!!! It was fine, since I'm the only one in the store, so I can take my lunch whenever I want, but it was real touch and go there for a minute. I was staaaaaarving. But I got a good review for the store yesterday, so my boss gave me an extra ten bucks that I used to buy lunch :9

My boss is decently nice to me, but I get the sense that I'm kind of out of the loop, or just not being provided the same things that I should be getting by default at my job. There's some strange stuff going on, and I'm not sure how long this business is going to last. It sucks, because I genuinely REALLY love the job and I'd hate to lose it. But I get the feeling the company is held together with a bunch of sticks and cream glue... Man... I DON'T WANNA LOOK FOR ANOTHER JOB!! STAY ALIVE, CRAFT STORE!!!! PLEASE!!!

During my lunch break, I poked around the book sale and found a couple of really neat ones that I ended up buying. One was a compilation of Monet's work, and two of them were photography based-- one was tips on photography made by John Hedgecoe, who I keep thinking of as John Hedgehog. I'm not particularly interested in getting into photography myself, but I like having books of photography-- especially fashion photography, since I like using it for inspiration and references. I have this one book of Tokyo fashion through the years, I really love it. It's great, then, since the other photography book I found was this really cool compilation of photos from hundreds of people all over the world, dating back to as early as the early 1900s. There's abstract photography, portraits, even stuff like vintage ads. It's really cool.

The PROBLEM is, I buy these books (only nine dollars for all of them, by the way, wow!!) and then I realize I have to WALK home. These books are not light, mind you. In fact, I would go as far as to call them a little thing called "extremely heavy". At least I have a backpack I bring to work to fit all my art supplies, but it was INSANELY heavy with the books in there! I managed, at least... My parents were driving home from their job and picked me up around 3/4ths of the way home, so we could go get food together... too bad the line at Taco Bell took like, forty minutes for some reason.

I wanted to stream Xenoblade X at the end of the day, but it ended up getting to be too late, and OBS kept giving me grief with capturing the Switch, so I think I'm just gonna do it later tomorrow. I wanna play Xenoblade X!!! AUUUGH. My mom had to pick up the game for me on Thursday, since I was working all day that day, but judging by how long it's taking to crack open the game I wonder if she shouldn't have bothered, since the only "preorder bonus" is a code for extra goodies in the game. Lame...

Instead of playing Xenoblade X, I decided to get on that thing I got earlier this month and build that Gundam set I bought from Gamestop! It's Gundam Calibarn!! I'll put the picture here:

It was really time consuming-- I wanna say about three or four hours?-- but I had a lot of fun doing it. I messed up on a couple of parts (the face plate is broken, oops) but it was really satisfying just clicking the pieces together and watching something take shape even if you don't know what it is at first. Plus, the design is just really, really cool. This thing is awesome. I'm probably gonna get another set next time I go to Gamestop, it was only like thirty bucks. I still haven't watched GWitch, but I want to...

My Gloomy Bear GSupps preorder finally shipped earlier this month... I was expecting the preorder to take a long time, but I actually ended up forgetting that when I first bought it, because along with the cup, I got my top-up of my favourite flavour! It's been four months, and I've been out of the GGF9K all this time!! Come back to me, What-If-Baja-Blast-Didn't-Taste-Bad!! ... Also, I bought the Mecha Waifu Cup deal they had on today, since the free shipping codes work again...

I ended up getting more GGF9K, and also a flavour called "Lean", which has extremely irritating branding but the idea of peach lemonade sounds WAY too delicious. Also the fact that the government told them to stop using Joe Biden's likeness so they just put Groucho glasses on him is a teeny bit funny. Everything else is just annoying, though. It just always reminds me of that one Tweet that was like "LEAN IS A DRUG??? IF YOU RUIN PERFECTLY GOOD SPRITE WITH COUGH SYRUP, YOU GET NO BITCHES". Truly one of the posts of all time

Deltarune still isn't out yet... I keep checking Toby's bsky on a regular basis. Nothing... We have to hold out hope!! Deltarune Tomorrow will one day be true!! Tomorrow, I'll play some Xenoblade X, maybe use this facemask I got a few weeks ago, and organize my room a little bit... The main thing is I need to work on my COMMISSIONS!!!!

It's rainy out!! Let's work hard tomorrow!!

"How *not* to lose? It is impossible not to. The world is balanced on the edge of a knife. It's a game of frayed nerves. You're pushed on by numbers and punitive measures: pain, rejection, and unpaid bills. You can either play or you can crawl under a boat and waste away -- turn into salt or a flock of seagulls. Your enemies would *love* that. Or you can fight. The only way to load the dice is to keep on fighting."
